Theatre, a large Agora, Stadium, public baths, Gymnasium and Columned Streets are the main historical places of the this magnificent ancient city. Aspendos is one of the best preserved theatres in the world. Still used even today, the theater's galleries, stage decorations and acoustics all testify to the architect's success. Nearby stand the remains of a basilica, agora and one of the largest aqueducts in Anatolia. We will have lunch in the city of Side, one of the best-known classical sites in Turkey. It was an ancient harbour whose name meant pomegranate. Today it is a pretty resort town with ancient ruins, two sandy beaches ( On summers swimming possibilities), many shops. We will also visit the Museum, Apollo Temple and theatre. After Lunch we drive to Manavgat Waterfalls to see an amazing view of the waterfalls. We will have some break there, near by hearing milky white, foaming water rushes powerfully over the rocks. Dear Toroshan, Herewith I would like to emphasize again the excellent experience we had last week with our guide Yildirim on the climbing of the Ararat. He was taking care of us with a lot of attention and we could really trust on him. Also after the climbing he was escorting us very kindly and all appointments were taken accurately. It was really a great pleasure for us. We should also congratulate Celam who prepared nice meals, always with enthousiasm, and we will remind him as our ‘good cook’ forever. As soon as we have the opportunity, we will send you some pictures about this expedition. Be assured we are happy about the way it was organised. Best regards, Pierre Kockerols / Brussel
